The wedding of Abbi and Phil – St. Mary’s Church and the Marquee at Colton Village Hall, Colton, Rugeley, Staffordshire – 6th August 2011

Abbi and Phil’s wedding – St Mary’s Church, Colton

St. Mary's Church

One of the many reasons we love being wedding photographers is getting to visit some lovely places. For Abbi and Phil’s wedding they chose to marry at their local Church, St Mary’s Church in the small village of Colton, Staffordshire. Colton is a beautiful village and full of friendly people, and no sooner had I got out of my car to check out the Church than I was being offered tea and biscuits by some villagers in the church community room.

Abbi’s parents house is fab, they have a bar in the garden and blow-up palm trees! By the time I was ready to leave Abbi was ironing a bridesmaids dress and successfully managed not to set it on fire! Phil arrived at church with his Best Man in a Porsche (As Abbi said – he had to do one better than her!), he looked very relaxed and joined friends and family in the church. After a very short car journey, Abbi and her dad arrived at St. Mary’s Church and it was time for the ceremony to begin.

The church bells rang as the happy couple left the church, and after photographs it was time for Abbi and Phil to be driven round the corner to Colton village hall for their Marquee reception… only the car didn’t start, and for the first time ever I got to photograph the groom and the driver push the car as Abbi tried to get it to start… luckily it did start and they didn’t have to walk to the reception!

I had a lovely day with Abbi and Phil, thanks so much for using Avid Photography and Good Luck in your future together.
